BRIDGING THE GAP

“Bridging the Gap” is a commonly adopted name for committees around the country that provide a Temporary Contact Service for alcoholics who have obtained sobriety in an environment of confinement and are being released into the outside world. This service is performed in accordance with the “Temporary Contact Program” in the Treatment Facilities Workbook, and the “Pre-release Contact Program” as outlined in the Correctional Facilities Workbook. BTG meets the first Thursday of each month at 6pm on Zoom (link available on the calendar).

PUBLIC INFORMATION (PI) AND COOPERATION WITH THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY (CPC)

The CPC/PI Committees provide information about AA to schools, businesses, law enforcement agencies and other organizations interested in the AA approach to recovery from alcoholism. They also cooperate with professionals in the community – educators, physicians, clergy, and others who come in contact with active alcoholics. Meetings are held at Central Office on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm.

TUCSON COMMITTEE OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (TACYPAA)

TACYPAA is a standing service committee that plans events aimed at unifying Tucson’s young AA members and supporting their recovery. Additionally, TACYPAA may bid for and host state or regional YPAA conferences. We define “young” as anyone who has spiritual room to grow. Meetings are held on the first and third Sundays of the month at 2:00 PM at Central Office. All are welcome.

HISTORY OF AA

This Committee is dedicated to documenting the history of AA in Tucson. This includes Personal and Group histories. Help us document Tucson’s AA history. Call Central Office for more information.
